FEB 10 Nautical Breeze

Classic Stripes, this is the time of year again where you see stripes everywhere. From the catwalk straight to the doors of retail stores, the Nautical Breeze is definitely in the air.

When wearing stripes you can be as subtle or as striking as you feel comfortable in. The first piece of fashion advice you probably ever heard was that horizontal stripes make you look bigger and vertical stripes make you appear thinner. While this is mostly true, it really does depend on the thickness of the stripe.

P.S.

Chunky stripes in red and white will make generous thighs look bigger but this is not only down to the stripe, but the fact that you are drawing attention to your thighs with a bright print.

FEB 8 A lil bit about what I do at work

Product knowledge for the team. One of my first projects at work. Cutting and glueing for hours was all worth it in the end. Seeing my coworkers reaction and how my board was interactive and fun for them, my job was done.

FEB 6 My First L♥ve, Fashion Design

Nostalgic...Browsing through my photos when I used to design my own line. Some people think that doing a fashion show seems easy. It actually takes a lot of time and preparation. A lot of things are taken into consideration in producing a fashion show. Finding sponsors to actually produce a show, brainstorming themes and types of fashion show, searching for the right venue for the theme, finding vendors, designers, models, DJ, make-up artists, hair stylists, wardrobe stylists, dressers, and getting all the backstage support that you need. Yes, it looks uber easy in a viewers point of view but there's more to it than just sending out models with nice clothes to the runway..it takes sleepless nights and months of preparation for a mere 30 minute fashion show.

All those sleepless nights designing with eyebags, sewing with cuts, bruises, stressing for the show deadlines, doing revisions in my designs coz I tend to forget to draw the closures (so a sane person can actually put it on and wear it) and finally that magical moment when I see these creations come to life in the runway and seeing people's reaction....I wouldn't trade it for the world.

P.S.

I can't and won't design for people who hide in a corner. Fashion should be about becoming a peacock.
